36001 Rochester Q JET | Stage 1 | Light Truck

(6 customer reviews)

A Stage 1 Quadrajet starts with a complete disassembly of the hand selected core, cleaning and inspection procedure. The casting plugs are sealed with epoxy to prevent leak-down into the intake manifold. All circuits are checked for proper sizing and the calibration is checked for proper jets, primary metering rods and secondary metering rods. The carburetor is then reassembled using the highest quality components with a new float, choke pull-off and bronze bushed throttle shafts. A Stage 1 is intended to restore factory stock performance.

I bolted it to my ’74 Chevy 350 and drove it around without touching any of the adjustments. I’m sure it will be better when I get around to tweaking the tune, but it wasn’t bad out of the box. I had to fabricate a throttle stud, because this one was in the wrong hole for my application. I should probably deduct a star for that, but whatever. It could have gone so much worse. I’m happy I decided to go this route.

Hello Michael, what product # is the throttle body you got from us? We manufacture the applications for specific vehicles so, if the throttle body was not fitting properly then you might not have the proper item.
